Hi there,

I've been reading this form for awhile, but I'm still a little confused on upgrading the video card in my mac. I have a Mac Pro 3.0 (2008), which currently has an Nvidia 8800GT in it. From what I've read on here the ATI Radeon 5770 card should work in my machine (with some minor issues). Now I know Apple sells an ATI 5770 upgrade kit, but I found this card on Newegg:

Basically I'm wondering if I can just buy and install the card off Newegg, or does it have to be the apple one? I read somewhere about the 5770 not working with OSX? This isnt a terrible problem for me since I just boot into windows most of the time but I would of course prefer to have the option to still use OSX.

I read somewhere that flashing may not be required, but I guess that person was wrong. I was hoping that I could avoid that.
