I have a card (Genuine Apple Mac ATi 9650 256mb AGP Video Dual DVI output) that once I taped the pins, 3&11 works fine in my 1.25 MDD, but for some reason is not seen in my 1.42 dual MDD.
The system boots and responds to the keyboard but there is no video, just a black screen.
I'm not sure if it is even possible to make it work, so I'm hoping for suggestions from others with more knowledge then I.

Try unplugging and reseating it a few times. It never hurts to retape, either.

Do you have a PCI video card lying around? Something like a Rage 128 out of a B&W or Yikes! will work. If you do, try booting with both that and the 9650 installed. Connect a monitor to the PCI card. You should then be able to looking in System Profiler and see if the 9650 shows up.

I will give this exact combination(9650+1.42) a try this evening.

Bunns to the rescue again!🙂
I'm not sure if it was the repeated plugging in or my pressing the PMU reset button. but something changed and it is now working just fine.
Thanks for the tip.
