So, its pretty common consensus that the new iPhone will have a front facing camera which will be used for video chat(what else would you need it for). Given that, how will it be used with the vastly restricted data plans ATT just announced?

I think the answer is you will be charged a certain price a month for the ability to use video chat, and then any data you use by chatting won't count towards your overall data usage. I bet it will be $15-20 a month extra to enable video chat.

If this is not the case, and the data from video chat counts from your 2 GB, it will eat up that 2 GB fairly quick I would imagine.

I would love to know how much data will be taken up by the video chat function. I anticipate using video chat a good amount, though much of it will be on wifi

Unless they make it wifi only.

Don't see that happening, as I'm sure Apple will market the video chat as something you can do while on the go, wherever you want. I can't see them limiting it wifi, which for many people means only using it in their house.

Like what? Have they released those API's to developers?

like an actual camera for taking pics of your self. i know kinda girly but some apps use pics of you and you may need a pic for something and whats better than a front camera? also lots of people like to make vids of them self wether it be a bloging thing or what ever and this is perfect. then you can do things like a mirror or if you need to see under something you can now easily do that and im sure devs can get even more creative.
