I am pretty much looking for a good site that has guides and recommendations for video compression that is Mac based. I would like to do some back ups of dvds, plus make them easier to store on my computer (i have this overly ambisious project to make my computer a home entertainment center thingy), plus i have some home made vid that i would like to encode small enough to make them easy to send to family members.

I like iMovie, but i would like to use ogg for audio and xvid for video. the long and short of it is that i would like to find a site that recommends good methods for video manipulation for Mac, most sites focus on the Wintel universe.

For compressed backups of DVD I recommed Handbrake, its free ad compresses the DVD as mpeg -4.
