Is there a way to convert real media video files to mpg, avi ect... (no .wmv and must be on mac)

I did a search and found this http://forum.videohelp.com/viewtopic.php?p=1437472&real+media#1437472 I haven't tried it myself but it sounds as though all you need to do is download ffmpegx and some extra components that are available on the ffmpegx Download Page
