Video Converter Software

I was just wondering if anyone could recommend a good app for converting video?

I want to download something from youtube so need it to be able to convert from FLV to say AVI or something similar.

Have just tried VisualHub and it's fab.

Does anyone know of a good Windows app too? (yes, unfortunately I have to use both mac and windows lol)

I think VirtualDub is something worth taking a look at.

Well, there's also TubeTV, (found on the Apple downloads page).

It works just as well, if not better than iSquint and VisualHub, due to the fact that IT browses the web, and directly takes the video. No need for going to
Window->Activity, and then scrolling through, finding the video, and then saving an FLV copy to your HD, then converting. It takes the vid directly, then has encoding options, and allows you to add to your iTunes library. Trust me, it's great, and FREE. 😀
