Video Converting Program?

I've been using isquint to convert video but i'm sick of it cutting off the sides of the picture. Does anyone have a nice FREE program that can help me out?! Thanks so much!!

And may I also suggest the search button. I know people say that to newbies a lot, but really this one has been discussed several times.

sorry if its a repost but i couldnt find anything else on the forums. i already have the movies on my macbook (most in .avi format) and so i cant use handbrake. i was using isquint but it keeps cutting off the sides of the video.

thanks for getting back to me! when i go to select my file it tells me that "no valid source found." However, when i put in a dvd handbreak works fine! thanks again for the help 🙂

That's weird. I use handbrake to convert .avi files all the time. Sorry I can't solve that problem for you.
