Video Editing

Just in the process of transferring some old VHS tapes to DVD.

Thing is I want to do some editing of the mpeg file before burning them to DVD.

What would be a good simple to use program to do this ?

Wait so are the VHS tapes already transferred to your computer? If they are, just edit with iMovie.

Yea, I get the editing bit, but how do I save the edited video out ? I sure cannot find a save option anywhere......
