16e owner here. The 16e is the MVP of the modern iPhone imho.

It’s fast. And very thin and light. I often forget that I’ve got it. Can’t say I’ve had that since my 7.

It’s got the most screen scratches I’ve ever had on an iPhone - mainly because I forget that it’s in my pocket and put my keys or AirPods case in with it.

As for no MagSafe, Dynamic Island or promotion. If you’ve never had these things - like me - you won’t miss them. And I’d be willing to to bet that the vast majority of 16e owners haven’t either.

As is said in the video, I would’ve loved a telephoto lens too, but after hardly ever using the ultra wide lens on my 13, I certainly don’t miss it from the 16e.

Bezels. Yes they’re ‘bigger’ than the other models - if we can be bothered about 1-2 mm etc - but I class myself as someone who simply doesn’t notice them or care. See also ‘the notch’.

It’s a great mvp iPhone. And given that most people will get this as part of a monthly carrier plan, not too expensive

I've used them a few times here at work, as our company-issued phones are the SE 2022 (which I have) and the 16e. I would have been fine with buying the 16e over my 16 pro; it sure feels a lot better in the hand and pocket.

..but I'm not buying any new tech for the next few years (4ish), so unless mine breaks, I'm sticking with it.
My 12 pro broke and needed a full replacement which I think was £500 a the time and it was actually the same price to get the new SE at the time… I imagine it will be similar scenario on the 16 pro and 16 e..

5 months later it still doesn't have Magsafe and precision Find My.

No sale. "Android users won't know the difference" is a logic that'll turn me into an android user.

The 16e is the closest to the OG SE than the other SE from my use of it

The sides of the 16e being the same as the OG SE compared to the iPhone 6 look of the SE2/3.

Performance being almost the same compared to the 16 lineup and also the OG SE to the 6s lineup ( key factor being the same RAM for both iPhone generations)

And 8GB of RAM for the iPhone 16 lineup alongside 2GB of RAM for the 6S/6S+/SE. Sure SE 3 has the same ram as the 13/13 Mini but not the Pro’s. The 16 lineup will be the last in quite some time for all models, E to Pro having the same amount of RAM since the 17 and 17e are rumored to have 8GB of RAM compared to 12GB for the Air/Pro

Just this phone gives me more OG SE Vibes than any other iPhone. Especially since the 17 will be in 6.3 inch’s this will be the OG SE of “small phones” ( until a future SE Based on the Mini Size will come out)

This will be my last post on this retched website. Since Tim Cook has "bent the knee" to Donald Trump, there has been no mention of it on this site. I can only surmise that the moderators are fans of Trump and don't think that this is actually news. It is. It is huge news for Apple. I am now in the process of switching complete ecosystems from Apple to Google. I just hope that someone on this website grows a pair of balls and says something about this travesty!

I have a 16 Pro and honestly I wouldn't rule out an "e" model in the future. While I like the telephoto on the Pro I don't like how heavy the Pro is. I don't use magsafe or the ultra wide camera and to be honest I don't think I would be missing all that much if I went with an "e" model in the future. I do hope they offer more colors in future releases though.

It's funny - I've been using a 16e since release and love it 95% of the time. 5% of the time I want the better zoom camera, so I've still debated grabbing a 16 Pro and handing down the 16e to one of my kids (who are all on the 13 line). Not sure if that 5% of the time is worth that cost, though!

However, you know the one reason they don't want the 16e (well, two of them anyway, one of them doesn't care)? The lack of .5 camera. Evidently that's a big deal to a lot of kiddos these days...

I was actually interested in possibly buying the 16e, but the lack of MagSafe was a deal killer for me. I already have MagSafe accessories, and I don't want to abandon them or only be able to use them with specific iphone cases. It will be interesting to see if the future 17e will have MagSafe included.

My ol’ XS was a great phone but Security had become a concern and the now minuscule 64Gb HD was full so as soon as the 16e came out I was on it. The 16e is light years ahead, no regrets at all.

I like it a lot. I have a 15pro and had to get this as a backup phone when I *kinda* lost mine right before a trip. It's snappier than the 15pro. The only negatives for me are, the camera is not as good, the screen is not as bright outdoors. It's a perfect work phone.

Had my 16e almost from day one and switching up from my 13 pro max was the right call for me. It isn’t all the high end stuff but it is enough to be a great phone and the best bang for buck. It isn’t promotion but it is an OLED screen and as someone that doesn’t game or watch a lot of video on their phone the 60Hz isn’t a huge deal. I’ve used the same nightly Qi charger since my Xs so MagSafe isn’t a killer feature for me (though the case I got adds it back in 💁) and my AirTags are largely for luggage tracking so if I can’t spot my bag in a general location I’ve got other problems 😁.

And it is the best looking iPhone apple is putting out. I hope they smooth off the camera soon but this is much much better. I’ve got my Apple intelligence features and plenty of storage. Also, I personally prefer the notch so that was a nice bonus but to each their own there.

Where are all of the complaints about the C1? looks like apple did a good job?

It's solid. For most it's been a non-change, which is probably exactly what Apple wanted. Anecdotally for me, it's been just fine. Top speeds might not be as fast, but it's also held onto a usable connection a couple of times when my wife's phone (standard 15 / Qualcomm) has not. 🤷‍♂️

Alongside a 16 Pro, I can't tell if the battery benefits are due to the modem or just the fact that the battery is roughly 12% larger. Would love to see a more scientific battery test of the 16e vs others on cellular data only to compare.

i did have a think about getting one, but £600 as it would be in the U.K is a lot of money just for a phone. While i love my Mac mini and still think i9 made the right choice changing from Windows and a PC, I don't think I am willing to pay £600 for a phone that to be honest will do no more than my cheap Oppo Android phone. Sure it will be faster, a better screen and integrate with my Mac. Not that I am bopthered about intergration.
The camera is still good on my phone, better in some ways than the Iphone 16E as it has more lenses and the quality of the photos and videos are very good.
I can't justify spending that much on a phone, sorry Apple.

Love mine too! Move from iPhone X to 16e everything just be must more fluid since my X is like ancient at this point of time. Single camera is also something i like since it cut the weight down and usually we use the main camera only but occasionally you do find that the triple setup comes in handy. Didn’t bother with ProMotion since my iPad Pro has it.

This phone would be so much better if Apple charged like $479.99 USD. I think this thing is wayyyy overpriced and makes no sense when you can find an iPhone 13 Pro for dirt cheap. I also think the lack of MagSafe is rediculous, I get that you can get a case that fixes this but like come on man. I also really just wish they made this a 5.4" phone or even just a 5.8" phone but that is personal preference longing for the days of smaller phone options and yes I have a 14 Pro Max but I really wish smaller phones were available...if I needed a work phone I would want something smaller.

$479.99? That’s what the SE3 (128gb) was selling for up until the 16e was released.

The 16e is $200 less than the 16, priced the same as the 14 was right before it was discontinued, and priced 25% higher than the SE3. You don’t have to like the compromises that were made (I agree on MagSafe), but it’s fairly priced at the end of the day (in the U.S. at least).

It’s not exactly a budget phone. But we will see when I call time on my 13 Pro, I honestly think it has a few years left in it.

I don't think its a $600 phone man. Maybe we can meet in the middle at $530 but I think it makes no sense to buy a 16E over a 16. I think the phone may make more sense when the 17 series comes out but I think the product is kind of pointless at its current price.

Yeah I get it. Even if the math works for the margins on their end at $600, I'm sure they have some wiggle room to drop it down to something like $550 and still be more than profitable - and even that small drop would probably help win over some that think it's priced too high. 🤷‍♂️

Hoping I can hold out another 3.5 years with my 12 mini but I’m sort of thinking that might not be very easy. I do need the camera so am looking at the 16 pro, but might hold out for the 17 or 18 pro.
