Hi guys,

I wanted to get advice/ideas on what I need to take great videos with my iPhone 7 Plus. I obviously have the phone, but I wanted to know what else was out there as far as stabilizers etc. I have a new MBP 15" and also wondering if iMovie was good enough? I have used it in the past and thought it was ok, I am pretty tech savvy so I can figure things out. The videos will be mostly of my daughter, family things, vacations etc. I want the videos to come out much better than the usual handheld mobile. I have Canon 6D but its too cumbersome to carry around for this sort of stuff and found the iPhone 7 plus works great for this.

I have the same phone. I'm planning to pick up a gimbal for it, that's supposed to make the video look nice and professional. Something like $300 for one of those I think. There's also lenses and cases you can get like the Cinemamount case. Also if you want there's the Moondog anamorphic adapter which I had for my previous iPhone and loved the look I got with that. The 37mm version will fit the cinemamount case but only works with the wide lens on the 7+

Thanks, I just got the DJI OSMO Mobile gimbal (288.99). Just used it for the first time today with 0 experience, works pretty well IMO! I know there have been many saying out there it doesn't work with the IP7+ but that maybe for the overly critical eye and professional work. It looked good enough for me with how light I can go. I have a Canon 6D FF camera but that, plus lenses and tripods is bear to carry around. I'm also going to download that trial of Final Cut Pro X from Apple to see how I do with it. I need to look into those anamorphic adapters, thanks for the info!.
