not sure if i see the need to have a video ipod. am i the only one that thinks this?

I see no use for it whatsoever... and yet I want one. Does that make me a mindless sheep? Yes I think it does and I have no excuse for it.

However, I'm slowly warming to the idea of taking a movie on a long train journey. If the screen is a reasonable size anyway.

I'm just not convinced that we'll be seeing full length movie downloads just yet.

I'm sort of expecting something not too dissimilar to the current iPod but with video capabilities primarily for music video downloads and maybe video podcasts.

3, the mobile phone network in the UK are pushing music video downloads quite heavily at the moment so I presume there must be SOME market for it.

This is old news and was proved to be a hoax. it is a streched nano with a windows mobile start up screen.

Since Apple sent out media invitations for a special announcement on October 12th, the rumor mill has been buzzing. There have been reports of a video iPod, an Airport Express with Video, as well as PowerMac and Powerbook updates.

ThinkSecret amends their earlier PowerMac/Powerbook rumor report with some further details of the upcoming media event.

According to the rumor site, Apple will be delivering an iPod update alongside Pro Mac updates... but ThinkSecret reports that Apple will not be delivering a Video-capable iPod. This is contrary to a recent claim by Appleinsider.

The new iPod will boost storage capacity to 80GB as well as what appears to be minor cosmetic and interface changes. ThinkSecret maintains that there will be no Video iPod, which is in concordance with historic comments by Steve Jobs.

Meanwhile, PowerMac and Powerbook updates are still expected but details are still limited.

Apparently Arn and the MR staff haven't seen this thread yet, or they missed the juicy tidbit supplied by spacehog371
