Hi, I was recalibrating the battery of a MacBook Pro 16" 2021 (M1 Pro). After waiting for 5 hours, at Step. 5, I reconnected the charger to the laptop. When the laptop was waking up, I saw lots of random strange colourful patterns (mostly squares) for 2-3 seconds. Then, it resumed to normal. Do I need to worry that the laptop might have a defective chip? I calibrated the battery of new MacBook Pro over the past 20 years but never seen such problem.

Anybody else has this problem?

It is normal, don't worry about it. Lots of people had this happening already when they calibrated their batteries.

What is the cause of this? Is it just for M1 MacBook Pro? Certainly this did not happen to my 2019 and previous models.

I tried the same procedure. Again, when I plugged the power adapter to the computer, garbage showed up on the screen. Then, the entire screen kept fleshing in pink.
