I’m not watching that video. What’s in it?
They repost it every few months anywayThis article should be placed as a permanent sticky at the top of the iPhone forum
You will need to attach your chargers to a HomeKit controlled plug, then you can control the plug with an automation. Not seeing shortcut action that "turns off your phone charger"
Maybe not available on all iPhones?
I’ve got that turned off… Not sure what it could be doing….Auto app updates might be doing it?
Don’t you need to have charger plugged in to a smart plug? You can create it using the Home app > Automation
Yes, you do.Don’t you need to have charger plugged in to a smart plug?
Unfortunately, many people on here gimp their phone so that they can get extra battery life, even though they have access to charging. In mind, there isn't much point in spending $1k on a phone if you are going to turn around and turn most everything off.I wonder how much extra battery life one would get on a modern iPhone 11/12 when turning everything off that was mentioned in the video? 3%? 5%? I am guessing the gains are small enough to not be worth gimping user experience.
I don’t think it’s workingI use optimized battery charging and never get that message. Just because the message isn't appearing doesn't mean its not working in the background. Thanks for the big iphone pic.
@madquack thumbs down to you too lolHow to just buy a battery case and have any settings you want on and at max
"killing" apps not in use is like crashing a computer by unplugging it from the wall. You're FAR FAR better off managing background app refresh for the app to prevent such activity.Final step is to kill apps you aren't frequently using. It's commonly said, even by Apple execs, that those apps aren't truly running and that killing them doesn't change anything, but that's false in many cases. They can start up to handle push notifications, significant change of location, or other subtle things, except when they're killed. Developer docs go into this.
Of course if you want to be more data-driven, you can go look at the battery usage stats, but eh.
How do you do that?iOS still automatically turns on LPM at 20%. I have it automatically turn on when I am charging. That way, my phone charges faster.
create an automation in the shortcuts app.How do you do that?
