Well, my iPhone's screen if getting scratched. I guess its my keys or my coinage or something else in my pocket, I don't know. I usually keep the iPhone solo in my front pocket, but occasionally you put your keys in the same pocket. When that happens, I usually move one or the other.

Anyway the video is at iPhoneUsers

I really do baby my iPhone so I am a little disappointed. I saw the PC world test and other videos on YouTube so I thought I was safe. In reality I am an idiot, IT IS GLASS, and glass scratches, plain and simple.

Get a screen protector, I know I will be getting one.

a screen protector is all i've got for my iphone. it really is silly to think the iphone would be invincible against scratches of any kind, even with all sorts of babying. i second the recommendation of getting a screen protector.

I just dropped mine yesterday, and pitted the glass and scratched every piece of the case. Apple is going to charge me $249 for the repair. But, I called Amex, and since it is within 90 days of purchase, they will likely cover the repair costs. They said they would pay for the unit, it's replacement, or the repair, which ever was most cost effective.

As for screen protectors... I had one on the screen, but it only covered the center of the glass, where the screen is. The pitting is in the black section of the screen. I sure wish I had bought the screen protectors last weekend when I was at the apple store looking at them. Unfortunately, they were busy, and I didn't feel like waiting until one of the clerks was free to help me. BIG mistake.

I'm gonna buy a new case, and get the matching screen protector from iqase. They have videos of them scratching the screen protector with a box cutter, and nothing penetrates the protector. That said, you could probably still damage the glass even with a screen protector.

How does that compare to the standard crystal films? I had a standard one on my iPod, which seems to be fine, but wouldn't really be all that protective from anything but the lightest scratch.
