I wonder if the thing that’s placed where the SIM should have been really is for satellite connectivity. That would mean only US hardware has it (same with mmWave antenna).

I’m now also curious where they put the second ambient-light sensor. The tech specs of 14 Pro say there are dual ambient-light sensors.

I sure hope there is a second Ambient light sensor. They had placed that under the display for the reduced notch in the 13 Pro series and it was DEFINITELY a lot slower to react to changes in the environment than prior non under display versions.

Unfortunately it's said here that the brightness still suffers in a pretty big way if you're out in the sun using the camera:

Biggest bummer of the year for me if it's not noticeably more resilient than the 13PM, there's gotta be a less aggressive way to handle this than make the screen impossible to use. I'd rather it overheat faster and do this less, if that were the only solution. I'd also rather a battery or screen that has a shorter overall life if I could hold the brightness longer in sunny environments.

i’m still rocking my 11 pro since launch. the ONLY thing holding me back is lack of USB-C. it’s beyond me how apple just can’t let go of their stupid old lightning.

Its definitely a nice ask. I just couldn't go another year with battery degradation, it's getting to the point of annoying being at an 81% max capacity now. I'll take a new battery and the quality of life changes here over waiting another year...but it will be nice once USB-C is there.

What’s with people saying this? I’ve never had issues with my phone dimming the display from doing “normal stuff” unless I was standing outside in the sun or were playing intensive games (iPhone 11 Pro Max)
