Tonight my video output out of the blue stopped working. I am using a DP to HDMI cable. I unplugged it to go use the printer, a driver installed for that, came back to the desk to plug the laptop back in to everything, the screen went black momentarily like it always does with an external connected, but nothing happens.

I have tried restarting and shutting the macbook down repeatedly, opened display preferences with the external monitor connected, it doesnt even show up.

Anyone able to help? This is very frustrating!

Check your cables. There's a chance you damaged something when you disconnected and reconnected the plug. Try another mDP or thunderbolt device to rule out issues with the port or the mac itself. Your adapter could also be the issue if it was damaged.
