Hi All,

Anyone else seeing their videos as choppy when playing it back? Mine is doing this for videos posted on FB but on my computer, the video looks fine. Anyone else with this issue?
 
Yes. I recorded a video in 4K 24fps this morning and the playback looks like garbage. It is super-choppy and flickers like crazy. I am on the latest iOS 15 Update. Hope this will be fixed with a software update.
 
Yeah any video i play on messenger is super choppy brand new out of the box 😒

I have the 13 pro max and having the exact same problem. I’m on iOS 15. If I play it without opening it up it plays perfectly. As soon as I open it up it’s really choppy
 
Related experience here (I think). Recorded videos (4k/60) showing slight hiccups every few seconds. Looks like some issue with stabilization.
 
I recorded some video at 4K/60fps and no issues. I sent it in Messenger and it played great on the other device.

Frames per second can make a big difference. I use 30 or 60 depending on if it is HD or 4K.

@macdnyc: Slight hiccups is another issue and you might be correct with it being stabilization.
 
Did some further investigation on my video issue. It appears that a single blurred (shaky looking?) frame randomly appears in otherwise clean video. Example of one such frame attached. Frame before and after this one are perfectly clean. Happens every few seconds in some videos.

OK, it’s still super annoying but I was able to find a workaround for the choppy video in Messenger.

If a video starts playing choppy from the Messenger thread, you can long-press the video to bring up the Sharing menu, then immediately tap away to dismiss it, and
the video will play normal again. See screen recording!

Well, it works sometimes.
 
I thought it was just my iphone 13 pro max. It only happens in facebook related apps. Like when I open my story or a video in facebook or instagram. I don’t see any stutter in youtube app.
 
Yes!!! My husband and I both have iPhone 13 pro max and we’re both experiencing videos are really choppy/glitchy. Brand new phones and it’s the first time we’ve been disappointed with them. It’s extremely frustrating. Does anyone know how to fix this? We’ve been experiencing with all videos we send and receive via Messenger, and Instagram.

Same issue. iOS 15.0.2 iPhone 13 Pro Max. Videos stutter, seem to play in short loops exactly like the screen recording above.
 
I'm getting this on iPhone 12 Pro Max, only in Messenger (I don't use Facebook, so I don't know there...). Nowhere else, never saw this before ever. I then updated to IOS 15.0 and it didn't fix it. I realize this is about iPhone 13's, but I had this issue on iPhone 12 Pro Max right about the time the 13's came out. Just in case it's not a phone-related issue.
 
I'm getting this on a couple devices that aren't iPhone 13's.

Can't quite figure it out, its like its buffering in a odd way causing 2-5fps. I notice this is from the stock player in iOS 15.
 
I've just had an update to Messenger come through, all previously-sent videos seem to be playing correctly now. Haven't had to send one yet so will need to see if the issue has been fixed.
