Video playback issue after 12.5 update

Hey guys!

After updating to macos 12.5 playing a movie will cause it to pause a second every so often.
Before updating it was flawless!
Anybody else experiencing something similar?

Tried pram/smc-reset to no avail

On what kind of a Mac does this happen? Maybe it's due to Spotlight re-indexing still running?

No indexing still going on, my Macbook Pro 2018 has been running a while after updating.

Maybe this update messed with the video codecs somehow?

Everything else is fine, it‘s just when I want to watch a movie it hangs every 20 seconds or so, regardless of file format. It also doesn't matter which video player I'm using.

can you check wether continuous replay works in IINA or VLC?

Use Disk Utility to check the disk with the movies.

I bit the bullet and did a complete reinstall of the OS. The problem is gone! Phew
