iPod touch Video programs?

I got quite a lot of space left for my ipod touch...so I'm thinking about putting in some movies in it. But, I don't know any programs that could convert the avi file into a file suitable for an iPod; also I heard a program that can halve the size of a video while it still has quality 😛

prism video converter is a program that does the job. You can download a trial here http://www.nchsoftware.com/prism/index.html
just change the date on your computer every time you want to use it back to the original month of use after the first month as the trial only lasts that long.

I spent some time looking for a good converter this weekend and was surprised there were not more free open source programs out there.

as it turns out though VLC is a great program for converting videos for the ipod touch. I'm still trying to figure out if conversion can be sped up though...
