Same price as a pixel 7 pro which is like 5-6 years ahead of this thing. The iPhone 14 plus should start at 299.
The only thing the Pixel 7 Pro has an advantage is probably camera, that’s about it.

Spec wise, Android always offer more bang for the buck vs Apple. In my country, for the price of the SE, you can get the S21 FE with more storage and flagship level triple camera. But an iPhone is an iPhone. People buy an iPhone because it’s an iPhone. The Apple brand itself carries the premium and that is something no other companies can catch up to anytime soon.

Apple’s bread and butter is their user interface and OS and their chips. Although less and less intuitive with each release it seems lately.

iPhone 14 Plus is still an uninspiring device. Id suggest people go iPhone 13 Pro Max for same or less money and more features compared to iPhone 14 Plus. Apple has cut out a bit too many features to make that relatively small $200 (or equivalent local exchange rate) difference hard to justify. The price gap should be $300 or higher.

The current Apple's bread and butter is its brand and locked ecosystem. Their chips is surely fast, but we are seeing diminishing returns in a restricted mobile phone. And since most apps are available in both iOS and Android, Apple's main draw is its brand. It's what makes people in markets with 30% marked up Apple prices, no Apple stores, and less features, are willing to still buy Apple products.

just go with the Pro Max... I can think of 200 ways most people can waste $200 in a few minutes/hours. :)
in this market, that’s a fact…

as for the 14 pro max, you better be ok with with the weight. I gave up on my 11 pro max due to weight (and size too, but mostly due to weight).

Sadly, the iPhone 13 pro is nowhere to be found Now.

Nobody will have these phones in 5-6 years.
I know some of my folks that’s still sporting iPhone 7 or 8 Plus just because it still works for their needs.

Granted the 7+ stuck with iOS 15, but Pixel 7 Pro in 5 years? Gotta be a paperweight.

The 14 Pro is the real ‘iPhone 14’. This is a iPhone 13C, and there is no shame in it but its the truth.

One of the problems with tech reviewers now, is that they all have the top end models.

So very few can take the regular phones on their own terms and you get a faint air of praise, like this one.

We saw the same thing with the M2 Air, where nearly all reviewers couldn't get past the fact that it didn't have a promotion screen (as they obviously all had promotion equipped MBPs, iPhone Pros and iPad Pros or Android equivalents).

It's a shame, as products like these are obviously meant for 'regular' people who have never used promotion devices (or just don't care given the extra cost) which they will find incredible if they are replacing a 3-5 year old device.

Definitely could have gotten a better peanut butter advertiser. Spend that extra $6 a month on good peanut butter

Easily one of the worst videos by the MacRumors team. Just say it: Apple should ditch all iPhone models except for the Pro Max
