No need to include anything if the aluminum is anodized.
For whatever reason it appears they chose not to anodize the mounting bracket; probably because it is not visible and they use anodizing for appearance and probably protect exposed aluminum.

Tim Cook happened.

Everyone here has REALLY short memories.

Apple under Jobs had all kinds of quality control problems. Remember antennagate and "you're holding it the wrong way"? Macbook Pro video card issues with ATI and Nvidia. The magsafe 1 cable fraying recall. The iMac G4 neck issues. The liquid cooled G5 leaking. Batteries swelling and even catching fire going back 20 years. The Titanium Powerbook paint chipping off and the hinges that were made out of prayers and wishes. The original iPod mechanical wheel failures and headphone jack failures. I'm sure there are others that I'm missing. Not to mention that under Jobs until the mid 2000s you couldn't even get a new Apple product for months. I had to wait five months to get my first Titanium Powerbook and it was ordered within an hour of the keynote ending.

Following up on this older thread. Has apple done anything with the adapter or screws to make it less prone to this failure? I'm about to take my iMac pro (bought when they came out) and remove the stand to mount on an arm. I came across this story and am rethinking my change.
