My current iPhone is right for me: iPhone 15 Pro. There was no reason for me to "upgrade" to the iPhone 16 Pro last year, and I still see no reason to "upgrade" this year either. I'll just save my money.
Spot on. Don't replace what works great.

I'm going with the iPhone Air. It's perfect for me. It's light with a big screen and easy to hold. It's by far the best looking phone Apple has made in years with the iPhone X and 7 in jet black coming in close. So far since I've had one, the only photos I've taken are of the grocery list on the refrigerator, with each photo deleted after I've gone shopping. Obviously, cameras are not something I care much about. I did care a lot when the kids were young, but the days of taking 10,000 photos per year are gone.

Battery life is not a problem at all. I've yet to finish a day below 50%, and I start at 80% with battery protection on. It's the perfect phone for me.

I was pleasantly surprised by the 17 Max Pro. Noticeably lighter than my 14 Pro Max, which I was not expecting. The sharp edges of my 14 Pro Max will not be missed. I was feeling a little buyers remorse before I received it, but gone instantly once I had the 17 Pro Max in my hand. Great iPhone, great upgrade all around.

Trying decide on the same upgrade. But my 14PM still works pretty well. And battery health is still at 88%. May just stick with it for another year.

The one that's right for me is the one I'm keeping... 15PM. My brother got the 17PM and, after a few minutes... I couldn't tell a significant difference between the two for my use case ( Teams, Outlook, Calls, WhatsApp, YT etc .. no gaming ) And, with winter coming.. my 15PM will double as a hand warmer! ;)

Broke the screen on my 15 Pro at weekend so got the standard 17 as a replacement, great phone. Pro wasn't worth the extra and the colour options are terrible.

Why is Apple obsessed with that dark blue colour all of a sudden?

EDIT: Also first time i've used iOS 26, my eyes hurt. Why does it look like someone went nuts with some crayons?!

15 pro max? No childish design, no stupid camera button. All elegance and elite look with perfectly fine chip and battery. Not the one cooks itself and owner’s hand to death.

The Air is the best iPhone I've owned and used since the X. And I loved the 12 mini.

Very good video. I think the base iPhone 17 is a wonderful iPhone and can easily be recommended. I bought an Orange 17 Pro Max and it was delivered yesterday and I am extremely happy with my purchase. Love the color.

None of them. When they come out with a new mini, I'll buy day one :).

So will I!

Apple needs to go back to the variety of designs used for the iPod (Shuffle, Nano, Classic and Touch) all very distinct design concepts at different price points and features. The four new iPhone 17 variants are essentially the same design with essentially the same features, even the Air ... how can a phone weighing 160+grams by called "Air"!

Unfortunately the displays are not the same as claimed in this video and suggested by Apple’s identical specs.

The display manufacturer varies on all of the models, but the only model with a good chance of a good display that doesn’t go lurid green at a slight angle is the 17 Pro.

That makes that heavy, inelegant model more attractive than it otherwise would be.

bought two greenish 17PM last week both with LG GH3 panel which I had to return... so bad

in the store they had two demo 17PM with that same green display when tilted the top towards you. And one good display from Samsung G9N which was perfect from all viewing angles. They were not willing to sell me that good demo iphone ...

Yeah, it’s a pretty ridiculous state of affairs.

I hope enough people return iPhones with green screens that Apple will take a serious hit and not repeat this arrogant, customer-loathing move next year. It’s total nonsense that you don’t know what you’re going to get until you open the box.

in the video it is said "Apple has basically given each one of these phones the exact same display..." It should be added "...on paper only (i.e. by written specs)". Not on paper but in the reality you got 3 different companies which are producing panels for the new iPhone. BOE Samsung and LG. Each of these companies produces also panels of different quality levels which all go into iPhones. LG panels are horrible, because of the green tint when tilting the top slightly towards you.

to answer the title of the video

Which New iPhone is Right For You?

answer: for me one with a good G9N Samsung panel ...

The difference in screen quality across the iPhone 17 lineup is subtle but significant. Be aware that not all screens perform the same. Choosing a G9N screen from Samsung ensures the best performance, while GVC and GH3 from LG provide a lower-quality option.

My experience only: went from 13 Pro to 17 (vanilla).

So far, in ~2 weeks I missed a stronger zoom lens exactly once. But every single day, I still am actually happy by how light this phone is compared to a Pro phone. The difference is real, in one-hand use and device balance and how the phone feels in shorts pocket when walking around.

Totally do not regret the move.
thats the exact move im contemplating. Thanks!

Same! I had a 12 Pro (loved it, but was time to upgrade). At launch I got the 17 Pro and used it for a week. Really tried to love it, but it just felt heavy and bulky. Wife got the 17 at launch, and I was jealous every time I held it in my hand.

After a week I returned the 17 Pro and got a 17. I still love it every time I use it throughout the day! The telephoto lens on the pro was impressive, but I'll use it so rarely, it's just not worth carrying that weight. So happy I went with the 17!
