iPod Video won't sync

Hey Guys

I've used Handbrake to rip some DVDs. Now i can play them on itunes but they won't sync to my iphone. The titles appear dim on the iphone sync menu. Now these movies are m4v. Is this the reason?? If so what can i do??

OK, slight change to that question.

I want to watch these movies on my iMac and my iPhone. I know now that the problem has something to do with encoding - is there anything i can do or do i need to re-rip them on Handbrake and optimize them for iPhone???

probably have to re-rip them. not all formats work on ipod. make sure to select the format specifically for your ipod on handbrake.
