Video Zoom says "Not Permitted" for some reason? Anyone knows why?

Restriction laws. You also can't take screen shots during a video in DVD Player. If you open the DVD with VLC (http://www.videolan.org/vlc/) you will be able to zoom and shoot freely.

What model of Mac are you using?
Some features in Apple DVD Player depend on processor speed.
