I have searched through the forums and havent found exactly what im looking for, so any suggestions would be great. I have recently ripped dvds using mac the ripper. the Video_ts folder is about 6 gigs and the dvd can only hold about 4.7 gigs. So is there any way to compress the folder to fit onto that size dvd. I've tried using handbrake but that turns the folder into .mp4, which when i tried to burn to dvd didnt work. Im also assuming that it needs to stay in a video_ts format to work on a dvd player (not sure if thats right either). Im new to this so any help would be great. thanks

So will DVD2OneX, which is my preferred program for shrinking DVDs.

You will have to use a Dual Layer DVD - they hold roughly 8.5 gigs.

Well, he could do that, or he could compress it. He wouldn't lose a noticeable amount of quality, and he wouldn't have to buy dual layer dvds.
