Videos in iCloud?

How do you sync videos that are not in Photos in iCloud? I have some older videos that were not taken with my iPhone. They are currently on my iMac. How do I get them into iCloud? Can I import them into the new Photos Mac app?

Yeah if you import them to the Photos app they'll upload to iCloud and sync to your devices.

I uploaded my albums yesterday and videos synced fine.
