View change in only one window

So I just upgraded to Leopard from Tiger recently and one thing I noticed is that when I change the view in one window, it automatically changes the view in all windows whereas in Tiger it would only effect the window you were working with. I may be weird, but I like some folders in icon view and some in list or coverflow. I checked a bit this afternoon but couldn't find the setting. Can anyone help?

open window then Press Apple-J

Nope, that doesn't let me change the view (ie. from list to icons) it only lets me change the settings of that view.
