Hi Everybody,

My Macbook Pro's hard drive recently failed but I can still get into the single-user (white text on black screen) interface. I realllllly want to view the song names in my iTunes Library folder using this interface. Is this possible? Also, how difficult is the recovery of files in the single-user interface? (say, by saving mp3s to a flash drive)

Thanks,
Sean

Hi Sean,

I don't know how similar our situation is, but I also recently came across a failed HD issue. I finally managed to recover the files in that failed HD and transfer them to a portable USB 2.0 external HD.

Please look at my recent thread to see which situation suits you most. You can go directly to my closing update on the thread which summarizes my situation and the solution.

Best of luck.
