yes use the attached applescript application. Or if you prefer the command line click here.

There's also a way to view them through the Terminal, but I don't remember how.

download Tinkertool... It allows you to set all kinds of locked features in OSX including "view hidden files"

I forgot about that program. I've had it for ages, but I just didn't remember it. Great application.
