OK. WMP 9 is incompatible with Intel Macs. The product is no longer under development by Microsoft for the Mac. However, the Redmond Monopoly supports the Flip4Mac QuickTime codec, which plays Windows Media files. This works with most downloadable and embedded WMV files. However, some websites embed their WMV files so that they require WMP, no substitutions accepted. For these sites, you are SOL. You may download Flip4Mac from either Microsoft's or the vendor's website.
Popwire has a WMV component for QuickTime that is Universal (as of today). Apparently the "evaluation" version has no restrictions on playback, although you have to pay $50 if you want to export more than 20 seconds in WMV format. Never used it, but I thought I'd mention it.
Well, first you have to call Microsuck and tell them that it is ******** that they do not make their DRM compatible with ANY other OS that is not WinBlows.
Then go to AOL Music or any other music video service that supports Mac OS.
Oh, and I forgot call or send MTV an email telling them how you feel about them for using Winblows DRM.
It's like, imagine if Apple had not made their DRM compatible with Windows? Microsoft just does not want anybody to use something other than their awful OS. You'll be alright without MTV!!!
