+1 Also excellent idea!
I thought I recalled reading here somewhere, an idea about an app which would read the SMS message about viewmymessage, parse the userid and password, and open Safari with those values to pull the message. Someone said that's illegal, one app reading the value of a text message, as it violates the sandbox.
Part of your idea above sounds kinda like SwirlyMMS thru Cydia, I think, if I understand correctly.... Perhaps Apple would approve an app from AT&T.
I'm starting to feel like there has to be something in the contract that prohibits AT&T from making apps for the iPhone. This is just a hunch of mine, but you'd think by now that AT&T would be doing whatever it could to make a little more money off the iPhone.
AT&T navigator? AT&T ringtones? myaccount login? AT&T video? None of these exist. It could be because AT&T doesn't want to hire someone to develop for the iPhone, but a $75,000 salary isn't a big deal to a company like AT&T.
