Vinaa: a native Mac workspace for organizing AI chats in one place

Hi everyone,

I’m Sujeevan, the indie developer of Vinaa, a native Mac app for people who use AI conversations as ongoing work rather than disposable chats.

I built Vinaa because my AI chats were spread across different apps and browser tabs. I wanted one place to organize them into projects, keep files and prompts together, and switch models without losing my work.

You can connect cloud providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google using your own API keys, or use local models through Ollama and LM Studio. Vinaa also works with your ChatGPT subscription.

What it currently supports:

• projects and nested folders
• multiple chat tabs and separate project windows
• switching models during a conversation
• reusable files and prompt templates
• navigation for long conversations
• importing ChatGPT and Claude conversation history
• local storage, with optional iCloud sync across your Macs

Vinaa requires macOS 15 or newer and is currently in public beta. You can download it from the Vinaa website.

So can I easily download all my previous conversations? I currently find it tiresome that with ChatGPT I can't perform a search in old conversations, without scrolling back to get older parts of the conversation to load.

yes, you can export from ChatGPT and then import to Vinaa. I have written it here in this blog post - https://www.vinaa.ai/blog/export-chatgpt-conversations/

Currently search is limited to chat title. I'm working on full text search which will search everything. It will be released in the next update. App is free to use during beta period. Please give it a go and let me know if you have any questions or have issues
