seems like Apples list of Vintage and Obsolete iPhones is due an update soon.

I think the following should be happening this month ?
-iPhone 4(8GB), iPhone 5 and iPhone 6 move from vintage state to obsolete state
-iPhone 7 and 7 plus enter vintage state

Then in Spring:
-iPhone 8 and 8 plus enter vintage stage (5 years since stop sell - when SE2 came out)

Maybe I have the stop sell dates wrong, I'm not sure, just seems strange the iPhone 4,5 and 6 are not obsolete already and the iPhone 7 has not entered vintage state yet. Especially as none of these devices get software updates (although that's a separate thing).

iPhone 6 had a long tail end because Apple was still manufacturing and selling them as new for certain countries like India until 2019.

iPhone 4 8GB was relaunched in India in 2014.

alongside some iPods, looks like the iPhone 6 has just gone from Vintage to Obsolete today.

funny that the iPhone 4 (8GB) model is outliving the iPhone 6 from the obsolete list, like you say was made in India from 2014. Do you know when they stopped production there?

Not sure, but the markets for the iPhone 4 8GB actually include India, Indonesia, and Brazil. Agree that it's funny and suggests iPhone 4 was still sold by Apple to distributors through 2019.
