after updating to El Capitan I can not get VIP mail to register anyone else having this issue .

Yes ... and just fixed it 🙂

- Select a single VIP mailbox
- Go to "View" then select "Sort By" then select "All Mailboxes"
- Now click on the main VIP Mailbox and all emails will appear.
