Amazingly in an all iPhone household, with yearly flights to the UK where the companion ticket would be a value, Virgin Mobile still manages to work out to be a bad deal compared to what I pay for AT&T.
Putting aside the $1 deal for a moment (although I'd like to know what the real cost is after taxes), $60 a month per line is pretty expensive and definitely not a good pair up against a family plan.
I was about to comment the same. It's Sprint, even free is asking too much lol.
I also called and confirmed. A lot of wasted time. Don't need a new phone...I think Sprint's multiple line is still the best deal at this point...Article intro is incorrect virgin site makes it clear the deal is only for if you buy a phone, not bring existing.
Somebody forgot their coffee this morning.
"12 mos. for $1 unlimited service offer: Limited-time offer. Offer ends 8/31/17. Available only to customers who purchase an iPhone and transfer their phone number to the Inner Circle plan. Excludes taxes."
Hope so, wouldn't mind trying out sprint's network. They definitely seem to have better coverage than T-mobile in Cincinnati.
Thanks! I'll try that.I found where bring your phone option is. Click iPhone and then scroll to the bottom.

In the US, some States, car manufactures can't own dealerships and can't sell direct to public. That benefits the costumers, because he/she can get exactly the same car from a different dealership, but at a lower price.
The US should rule that mobile phone networks shouldn't be able to sell phone services direct to the public, but must sell to MVNO's that sell to the public, even if the mobile phone network owns the MVNO, yields a better service to the costumer.
My country uses this model for home fiber Internet access, and as a result, we have very fast connections at very low prices, and fast fiber reaches even rural areas.
...off to check the coverage map.
They'll no doubt have some takers, but those sure are drastic measures.....You know you're bad when people won't even bite at $1.

This has been an ad on my instagram for several weeks now, same terms and cost....
If it was announced today, someone in the press release dept. at virgin/sprint/whoever has been asleep.
Gotta get rid of that iPhone stock i guess
Yes you can.Is there a way you could do this without having a phone number to port? I have an old iPhone 5s that is CDMA (Verizon), but it doesn't have a number because I ported the number to my iPhone 7. Would be nice to get a second number and use this as a backup and for hotspotting.
Do people actually read the article? Lol. I'm guessing it took them a bit to update the site.
How does 'bring your own iPhone to our network' exactly help them get rid of iPhone stock?

Yes you can.
I think Verizon 5s accepts regular gsm sims. I know my Verizon 6 works with Verizon, at&at, and t-mobile sims and gets LTE on all
You can always get a prepaid cheap sim (some are $7 on eBay) and get a line, then port it over
Before that, check the phone on virgin mobile
No. You have to port a number over or the promotion won’t apply. Is there a way you could do this without having a phone number to port? If you use a VPN, how could Virgin Mobile/Sprint identify if you were watching videos, streaming music, playing games, or doing "practically everything else"?
They can't. There is actually an article on 9to5 mac about that very thing.

I made the switch and the process was not a smooth one. There was a snag, on Virgin Mobile's part, during the porting process and it took about 48 hours to get everything up and running. I've had no issues with the service yet, but based on my communication with them (phone, email, and community forum) during the porting process it will likely be a hassle to resolve any issues in the future. Oddly enough, I'm kind of at peace with that since I'm only paying a $1 (varies slightly depending on taxes). If the service goes south, I'll switch back to Big Red.
