ok so im not new to mac's but i have a question i had never really thought about before, i can mount disk images but...can i use said disk images as a "disk" what i mean is if i have a game and i want to play it from a disk image so i dont have to "insert the game disk" as the game asks me, so i was wondering if you could use a disk image as a virtual drive.

yup...thats my question, i think thats all of it and im not gonna re-read it because i might confuse myself.

im sorry but you mught not have understood the question, that's how to make a dvd into a image i want to make an image into a "virtual disk" or a file the computer will recognize as a disk
but thats for trying

Can't you mount that image then to have it as virtual disk?
If not, you might try Burn or even Toast Titanium.
