What are the downsides to Virtual PC? I have heard that the graphic support is very low when using any Windows only software on it. Anyone know of any other low or high points? And yes, I know that you are susceptible to any Windows virus when using the program.

    Just wondering.

Virtual PC is just plain slow, thats probably the main downside. It seems to work okay, other than being really really slow. You really won't be able to run anything slightly recent on it, unless it's pretty much text based or has little graphical anything. Sorry if that didn't make sense, I'm tired. :)

It is slow (being an emulator), although the degree of sluggishness depends on the operating system you install (W2000 performs better than XP) and the host system. The environment equates to a very limited spec PC, hence your comments about graphics support. It is sufficient for Windows-only business s/w such as MS Project or MS Visio, but that is all I use it for.

There are plenty of threads discussing this topic if you care to search - many of them fairly general, but some are very useful. There is also a website that specialises in Virtual PC called (surprise surprise) Virtual PC Central.

    Good luck.
