hey guys..

I have a MBP with virtual box installed... I am using xp under it...

virtualbox verson R0.

when I connect a usb drive to the MBP , macos mounts it right away... when I eject from there... virtualbox doesn't see it...

if I go terminal and type vboxmanage list usbhost

it does see it there...

how can I make this work ?

I also use Parallels 6 on my MBA... whenever I plug something Parallels ASK me where to mount the device...

is this feature available in Virtualbox ?

thanks.

Did you install the VirtualBox Extension Pack?

http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/4.0.2/Oracle_VM_VirtualBox_Extension_Pack-4.0.2-69518.vbox-extpack

After doing this, you can make a filter for a particular USB device. Plug in the device and click on USB in the Virtual Box Manager and choose that device. Start the virtual machine and when it is running you must drag the usb icon from your desktop to the bin and the virtual machine will take over the USB device and you will be able to use it in the virtual machine.
