My Windows installation got damaged, and I need access to some QuickBooks files. They were in a Virtualbox .vdi image.

In Parallels I could still browse through the Windows installation and pull out the files I need. How do I do the same thing with this god damned VDI image?

Free isn't always better!

This happened to me as well. Virtualbox actually managed to cause my SSD to error out and fail. Had to actually RMA my SSD and get a new one.

1.) Create a new VM and mount the VDI as second HD.

2.) VirtualBox did not destroy your SSD. That's not even possible.

It would have died anyway. There is no way Virtualbox could have destroyed your drive. It is what is commonly referred to as a coincidence.
