virus scanner and properly deleting apps

    is anyone using a virus scanner for their macs? and does simply putting the application in the trash uninstall the program

    No need for virus scanning, unless you're sharing files with unprotected Windows computers.

    There are a few, but I don't think you'll need one since the virus scanner will kind of be a memory hog...at least that's what I experienced :eek:

    I am using Sophos purely so I know my MBP is safe against crap when I am at work as it is a corporate requirement for me to use the Sophos client.

    More than often it does not because that does not delete the plist files.

    Anyways I use AppZapper. It's not free, but it works great.
