No need for virus scanning, unless you're sharing files with unprotected Windows computers.

There are a few, but I don't think you'll need one since the virus scanner will kind of be a memory hog...at least that's what I experienced 😱

I am using Sophos purely so I know my MBP is safe against crap when I am at work as it is a corporate requirement for me to use the Sophos client.

More than often it does not because that does not delete the plist files.

Anyways I use AppZapper. It's not free, but it works great.
