Hi, all!

Just arrived yesterday and feeling fine about joining the forum. I'm a very hardcore forum user and it's really nice to know there are some, like this, that keep being very active.

I appreciate such a kind of community as there's no chance for me starting joining social network which feels really shallow for me… but sure there's a chance that my perception is biased.

Well, to the point...

I made my first post and, as a non-native english speaker, there where some redaction and typos to correct. So, there was a notification that it'd only become visible after moderation.

It happened, but then another mistake showed up to me. There's no notification now to wait for the moderation, so thinking that was already made… but, something gets me a little confused.

After the first edition and moderation, the post was visible even not logged. Now, it's just visible when logged in.

Maybe it's still waiting for the moderation, but as far as of now… it seems moderation was done (by the lack of notification just at the top of the post).

Thank you!

Your post is visible.

As to whether or not it can be seen by users not logged in, I can confirm that it is visible regardless of whether or not the user is registered and logged in, or not.

Hi!

I know why this is happening.

1. when new users post, we do have some rules that will cause a post to go into moderation. Spammy stuff including URLs will trigger it. Those posts will be manually approved.

2. once approved, they should be visible. And it looks like yours is now visible.

However we do cache threads for guests. This cache is cleared when a thread is replied to. Your post is the last post in that thread so I’m guessing our cache system isn’t recognizing an approval of a post as a signal to clear the cache of the thread. That’s why it didn’t show up for guests even after approved. So it had to wait for the cache to clear by itself. (Couple of hours)

something I can look into.

Thank you, Phil for the confirmation!

Thank you too, Arn! I was tempted to do another edition (of style), but preferred to walk away until getting some answer here.

Well, it'll be just a matter of time to clean de cache. Not really in a hurry, we're confined the weekends here in Santiago - Chile. So, lot of time to make home activities… including doing step 1 in the list put in my first post (so now dual booting Lion - Mountain Lion).

Maybe it's against the rules to make a double post, but not knowing another way to call attention (unsure if editing will give a notification). I'll take the warning if needed.

I'm posting from Safari 6.1.6 in the first partition of my Macbook 2,1 (classic black with a white s key). It has Lion on it and no other browsers available.

The problem persists, while not logged it's impossible to see the my post on the other thread. Only after logging in it's visible, maybe it's more than 2 hours for the cache to reset itself.

Anyways, at this moment my need is to edit the other post about my problem with El Capitan. Because conditions have changed and after made a successful install, maybe copying the post adding the addendum and then delete it for a new post more complete might be the solution to this situation.

Or maybe not, because it'll continue to be the last one of the page.

Have a nice sunday!
