I have noticed on my new 2017 MacBook Pro 13 non-TB that everything I insert a cable into the USB-C/Thunderbolt3 ports .. there is visible electric sparking.

This can't be good.

I use my laptop on the road and when back at home I plug in the Apple power and DisplayPort cables (external 4k monitor) and need to unplug/plug at least once daily.

I've never had this problem with any other laptop - Dell, Thinkpad, MacBook Pro 13 2015 ...

Has anyone else had this?

It seems to happen as I try to align the male connector into the female port .. which is more difficult with it not being MagSafe. Smaller USB-C means it is harder to insert perfectly directly in most human scenarios ..

I can tell you that I have not reported anything like this before, nor have I ever heard of such sparking! Have you tried taking it into an Apple Store? If you have AppleCare I am sure they will sort you out :)
