Anyone else's thoughts on Visible?

Going to try a side-by-side comparison of my current T-Mobile service with Visible. I am going to suspect that the coverage will be broader and more consistent than T-Mobile. T-Mo is pretty dreadful inside my single-story wood-framed abode: 0-15 down then 0-1 up inside. The last two tests of 1 bar of LTE were .19 and .24 up. Pathetic. I pay $20 all-in/month on a family plan so it is tolerable since I use WiFi.

Still working fine here. Speeds are good, especially on 5G. It’s been a lifesaver on long trips since I can tether my son’s iPad to my phone so he can stream movies and videos. Love never worrying about data caps. And $25 a month is hard to beat. If anyone wants to join my party feel free.

Right, it might not be the fastest but for me, tethering, unlimited data, and $5 Apple Watch date is legitimately awesome. If they have $5 iPad data plan I'm going to go nuts.

Been using it since 07/2019. Started with my spare iPhone 6+, then moved to 12 mini, now using it in my 13 mini as extra phone. never had a prob so far. I also have a 12pro on ATT, I haven't noticed any diff in coverage between the two.

Thanks everyone. What kind of average speeds do you see? With T-Mobile it could be zero or over a 100 on LTE. It varies block by block.

Try it. I used Visible for a year or so but congestion in areas around here got to the point where data wasn't usable until after 10pm most nights and that wasn't going to work. Sometimes it would work great and then other times you would be stuck at sub dial up speeds. Every area is different. If you're picky about when you want to use data during the day It might be a problem. If you only use it at night or are otherwise a light user (music with light browsing) then you likely will be happy.

AT&T has a Physicians & Nurses deal that got the cost down to almost the same amount and moved the lines over to there instead.

I’ve been on Visible for a little over a year. I switched from Verizon postpaid and got pretty much the exact same service. Within the past half year or so, however, they’ve gotten pretty bad with congestion, but it’s been like that with Verizon as well according to some of my friends that have Verizon postpaid still. Been waiting for C band to hopefully solve this problem so I’ll check back in on the 19th if my area is one of the first to get C band.

I’m very hopeful that c band is going to fix 5g on Verizon and Visible. I started using it as soon as I got my iPhone 12 Pro Max, the launch phone for Verizon 5g. It works but it’s slow. Then some national media reports discovered that the 5g is slower than the 4g. But I still use it. C band should fix this- Fingers crossed.

When it's good, it's good, but when it's bad, it is unusable. It appears, at least at home, the comments about poor performance when congested appears true. I used Ookla after midnight Sat. and was pulling 30-40 down and now around Sunday dinner time it is less than 3. What never went away was the latency - very annoying. At least for me, not acceptable even for $25/month.

Visible's latency and jitter are abhorrent if you're not near their virtualized cores which I believe are in Kansas and somewhere along the east coast. In MN I often see 100ms latency and 70+ms jitter on Ookla which translates into a choppy, unreliable feeling connection even when the speeds are 100+ DL and 30+ UL. Just my 2¢.

The latency seems to vary quite a bit. Much better now, but who knows what it might be on another day/week. When the latency is bad using Safari, I'll ask for say a news article and there's a delay (enough time to wonder if its working) and then boom the entire page shows up. Just not a very smooth UX.

My family has been satisfied. I have told other people about it but what is stopping them from switching is most of them still owe money on their phones and they can't pay them off to switch to Visible.
I hope Visible doesn't go out of business because I really like the price and speed.

It is owned by Verizon so it shouldn't go out of business unless Vzw decides to shut down the business or sell it off to someone else who does something to it.

I’ve told people about it too. I think the setup process was daunting for them.

Visible latency is really high which can effect the performance of some types of apps. I’ve found that you get near the same speeds as Verizon if you aren’t on a congested tower, but if you are it drops a lot down to sub 10Mbs. But it’s a great deal and you get the coverage of Verizon.

T Mobile is very fast and low latency where they have coverage. Their network has gotten more congested and unreliable since they bought Sprint. I think it’s probably short term as they are doing lots of upgrades. But for the past 6-12 months in some areas it’s been dicey. Their customer service has gotten worse also.

I’ve had both and currently have t-mobile. I have an older plan that was upgraded to unlimited at no extra cost so it’s a good deal at the moment even with some of the recent frustrations.

Yeah a family member who works in healthcare I think has the same plan. It’s an unlimited plan called FirstNet and it’s only like $35 a month. They also get higher priority when the towers are congested.

They do have first net, that isn't what we are on though. This is the plan I was referring to

I hope that legacy T-Mobile see the benefits at some point like the bandwidth that Sprint had purchased. Right now, it is Sprint customers that have benefited the most. Sprint was like dial-up mobility.
