In a report outlining his expectations for Apple's event next week, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman revealed potential new Vision Pro and HomePod mini color options.

For the Vision Pro, he said Apple has considered a Space Black color option. For the HomePod mini, he said Apple has tested new colors, including Red.

The current Vision Pro has a mix of brighter silver and white colors, while the HomePod mini is available in Blue, Orange, Midnight, White, and Yellow.

According to his previous reporting, Apple plans to update both of the devices later this year.

Apple's event begins on Tuesday, September 9, at 10 a.m. Pacific Time.

Apple Vision Pro doesn't have enough of a market to justify the added manufacturing costs that come with multiple colorways. It seems to me that Apple Vision Pro 2 will just require a new drop in logic board that will likely be designed to minimize changes to the manufacturing line. They might change the color, but I highly doubt there will be options.

don't care about color changes

but if the AVP upgrades to the M4? chip, what features are materially different vs the current model

A black color option will be nice. I like the clean look of the white/silver version but I imagine it might get dirty after extended use (ha). Perhaps one of the 5 people who own one can comment.

I could never get past how isolating a Vision Pro is. Awesome tech though. At least with the colors they'll make it more stylish to be alone watching a movie without friends or family?
This bizarre notion of Vision Pro being "isolating" is not a factor. We use our iPads, MacBooks and iPhones alone the vast majority of the time. Vision Pro is simply an iPad/MacBook Studio Display in a wearable form factor. In a few generations the price will come down to allow for shared spatial movie watching but that's not even 1% of what Vision Pro is capable of.

I don't see them doing it with Vision Pro. That's just more SKUs for a product that's already not selling. Apple generally doesn't do that kinda stuff.

Yeah, tech is only as isolating as you want it to be. Even when fully in an environment, if someone steps to you and starts talking, they show through the interface. You can engage and converse as you would normally. Now, if someone WANTS to be isolated, they can ignore them, pretend they don’t see them, but they’re totally there. :)

I’ve watched a movie WITH friends, they were watching the TV, I was watching the same movie in 3D, just had to take a moment to synch what I was watching with their video and it was fun!

Hopefully the new colors for the HomePod are bright like the iMac. Will be very disappointing if they are dull and pastel like.

I don’t care if it’s a bump to M4/5 but if it comes in midnight/space black I’ll upgrade. I highly doubt they will; they never came out with black AirPods.

Vision Pro should a been all dark from the start. I don’t understand the light color obsession on vr gear. It’s fabric that touches skin. It looks dirty no matter what you do eventually lighter colors also leak more light.

It totally gets dirty looking even after washing… and my dumbass cut my ear while shaving once and didn’t notice so my cord is now bloodstained 🤦‍♂️

The massively upgraded GPU should at least help out significantly with passthrough. Either higher resolution, quality, and/or color fidelity.
