I wonder what apples return policy will be with vision pro regarding prescription lenses. If you buy the product, then try it out, after purchasing additional lenses, but find it's not for you, will you also be refunded on the lenses? I imagine you would, but it seems to add a layer of complexity to the return procedure.
I highly doubt it, the lenses are a prescription just for you. I think that will between you and Zeiss.

For better and seamless interaction...

Apple needs to consider making Apple Vision Pro Motion Controller.

Those controllers look terrible. They look reminiscent of the original Vive Wands, controllers that were obsolete the moment the first Oculus Rift came out, because of one flaw: They have no buttons or sticks.

All VR controllers use sticks and buttons for movements and simulating hands. The lack of triggers is also a problem since aside from guns, the triggers were used to mimic an index finger

It makes sense that there would be a lot of technology and features that didn’t make the initial announcement. Looking forward to seeing it develop, and maybe there will be a reason to buy an SE version for me.

Can't wait to do an 1 hour HIIT with the extra weight on my face, which should be good for losing weight (every little bit helps).

This thing will probably soak up quite some sweat and be even heavier, which is even better for losing weight!

Full Body Scanning? Erection Detection coming in a future update (sources say).
For ED feedback of course. All data will be anonymous and encrypted.

Apple was pretty clearly trying to not market this as a gaming device but I feel that is short sighted, in a way. I don't want to see a dedicated gaming device but I feel that to get adoption going, there will need to be some type of visual entertainment that encourages people and young folks to want this.

I could be wrong, just reminds me of the Pre-app store days of 2007 and 2008. Games sold the devices.

I cannot imagine how cumbersome it would be to use the Vision Pro with fitness apps
How about how disgusting it would be sweating in that thing?

Like all new Apple products, best to wait a couple of generations. See you in 2026!

None of this means that these features were necessarily “left out”.
All we’ve seen other than Developer documentation is a 40 minute presentation almost a year out.
I think it’s obvious to anyone paying attention that there will be another (probably 90-140 minute long) event solely dedicated to the headset a couple weeks before it's official ship date.
There, not only can they show off everything they've already shown again, they can also invite third-party developers, who at that point will have been working on the headset for months and months to show off what they've got.
And then, just like the original Apple Watch, we’ll probably see a preview of visionOS 2.0 only a couple months after 1.0 ships at WWDC24.
My guess this has a refresh rate more like the Mac Pro…every few years. No way yearly unless it starts to become insanely popular.

Well, Apple is well known for input devices with a plethora of buttons, and not just a clickable touch surface. /s

The Vive wands are closer to the traditional Apple design philosophy than any other major VR controllers. The moment the first Oculus Rift came out, it was bundled with an Xbox gamepad. The Vive wands were much better than a gamepad for VR gaming.
What lacks triggers?

As a guess, it's currently just a mirror of the monitor right? If I were designing it, there would be no desktop constraint. You open an app and you can stick it where you want... to the side...behind you flat on a horizontal surface etc. Photo shop on your desk is a good example - with some future pen / brush device to use it.

Then things could get really cool. 3D apps like Cinema 4d could have a 3d UI. The working space is a volume in front of you or on desk. You could grab and turn objects / scenes in space or look round them.

The Ui could be virtual and floating around or use the desk with icons all over the place.

Could do similar things with Video editing and compositing. multiple Screens in front of your - Time line on desk you can manipulate with your hands. Make cuts and slides

I suspect it's not ready but My guess is that will come later. Could certainly do a mockup in with the current Dev tools.
Yeah, with SteamVR you can pin individual windows in your virtual space, or even to your hands—so you can check an app just by raising your wrist like you’re looking at your watch.

Fitness with Vision Pro is going to be HUGE! I've always struggled with following the fitness shows. But being there in person, surrounded by others (who could also be other Vision Pro users in real-time!) would really change things. Exercise sessions could be hosted live instead of pre-recorded.

If you don't have deep pockets, but want one, I would honestly wait until version 3. Unless you are developer, super geeky, Kardashian, I would wait.

How could full body tracking work based on cameras in the headset? What if you have a big belly or boobs, or you tilt your head back? It wouldn’t be able to see your legs.

Wait... WTF was the whole 'open your Mac, bring in the window and keep working' demo from the keynote? They literally said you could open Mac apps within the AVP. If it can't do that then I can't see buying it until this crucial feature works flawlessly. Crazy to cast aside amazing new ways to sell more Apple product.

So then I imagine it will be a no go purchase for most people who wear glasses.
Not really, I am planning on buying and keeping the Vision Pro when it is available in my country (I would not be surprised if it is not in 2024 as it starts US only and very few units will be available in the first year)... but I am aware I have a 2 week return period for it. I plan to make sure I get the glasses insert even though it is only a slight correction (I believe I am 20/20 in my left eye but a measely 20/25 in my right... though I believe 20/20 should be better than it is ...) ahead of the device itself so I have a full two weeks with it... but if I return it and I am out $400 for the insert (which I could still use on someone elses ) it actually is less than your standard restocking fee at places that do ask questions... (typically 15% at many retailers for stuff they sell).
