Whoops, I bet this guy is regretting his decision to make a quick profit...

With a ZERO feedback rating, very low shipping rate (like an envelope weight), I think it's most likely a scam....
True, could be a scam, but he's still bound by eBay's Terms and Conditions. The low shipping rate doesn't mean anything. Sellers will often list items with a low shipping cost to attract buyers. The shipping would be subsidized in the item cost.

This is an in-store pickup slot. Have they even paid in full? Or does this person who buys the slot have to still pay for Vision Pro when they get there? lol.
I think that's just showing proof he bought one and has one coming. A lot of people are showing their order confirmation. I'd assume he'd be picking it up and then shipping it to the buyer. Either way, I don't think you can pre-order online, but pay in store...can you?

No but if you don’t pick it up after a few days it gets cancelled and your card refunded. I “bought” the USB-C AirPods Pro from Apple on Black Friday for pickup in store but then found a better deal at Best Buy so let my order expire.

If it were legit he’d have set a reserve price.

On a serious note I wonder if Swappa will let Apple Vision Pro owners sell their devices once they are actually shipping. I find their fee structure a bit more reasonable and use it to sell my Macs and iPhones when I upgrade. Someone looking for a first gen AVP in a year or two might get a good deal. ;)

Having a reserve would have been too costly. What he should have done was start the bid out at his minimum asking price (keeping the 13.25% final value and other miscellaneous fees in mind), but then that wouldn't have caught anyone's attention. He could have been banking on it being a popular/high demand item and thought he didn't have to worry about it.

The reserve fee is $5 or 7.5% of the reserve price you set, whichever is greater, up to a maximum fee of $250. The reserve fee is also charged whether or not the item sells. A reserve of $3,333.33 or higher automatically gets you to the $250 maximum fee.

I've been watching some other listings that did had a reserve, and the bids never went above $3,000 or met the reserve. Ouch, there goes $250 down the drain. Let's just say the sellers didn't relist them...

A search on eBay turns up many similarly empty profiles with zero feedback rating, all claiming to sell one item - the AVP. You may want to rewrite the headline to include the word "scam," or "allegedly" or "supposedly," because you actually have no idea that anything was sold at all.

Whether it's a scam or not it's not relevant. I'm looking at the number of bidders first one as 49 bids and the second one has 67 this tells me that buyers don't wanna pay over 3k.

OP - I think you're looking at this all wrong..... the seller sold his pre-order for a vision pro.... the winner of the auction simply won the right to go pick it up in store, but still has to pay the retail price of $3,500 to Apple on top of the $2,150 for the slot..... The buyer is in for a rude awakening if they didn't fully comprehend what they were buying.

Either that or its a scam, but it seems to me based on the email that its the above.

How would you preorder this without paying? They took payment info when the preorder was made.

It's a 100% scam! once that person has the money they will just transfer to another bank account and close the second account. Just because you won the bid doesn't mean the seller can't cancel the purchase if its not up to the price they were looking for.

well eBay protects the buyer so who cares.

This buyer is either getting their AVP or the seller is making up some excuse as to why they can't honor the sale, but the buyer will not lose money.

How would you transfer money that’s stuck in PayPal. Buyers are completely protected on eBay. Almost to A fault cus sellers get screwed all the time
