I checked it out. So far a good start. Obvious this is Apple and the app will evolve over time so I am looking forward to all the changes.

Yeah, it’s beta, but it would be great to have the info text on the screen fade off after a few seconds. Right now, it’s on full time. It detracts from the immersive experience.
As you are able to install the Beta, you are registered as developer. Do submit that feedback. ;-)
You are right btw.

So on a lower res device that Apple doesn't sell, Apple's Spatial Video sucks? Shocker. Let us know when you have tried it on the device Apple sells, the AVP. You might still think it sucks, but I don't. Looks promising to me.
Resolution has nothing to do with it, it's about the feeling of depth.
VR videos look amazing, this is just a gimmick.

You must be easy to impress.

You may want to see an ophthalmologist. Some people have vision issues that hinder their ability to see 3D. I have a good friend with this issue. She never wants to go see a 3D movie.

Resolution has EVERYTHING to do with it lol... depth requires quality of the image, the size and dpi of it does matter. Or do you convert all your photos to 640 x 480?

Intelligence impresses me. I realize that makes me rare.

I can feel depth in VR videos whether it’s potato quality or 8k video.

Try more.

I can see 3D parts in movies fine, but it’s also a gimmick imo.
For me only real VR is impressive, by real VR I mean proper cameras with dual lenses.

I dont have to try more.... you are talking nonsense at this point with no real idea on what resolution and quality means. you have not tried spatial video on the AVP but claim to be an expert. Yawns.

It’s you acting like expert thinking that you need better resolution for more depth.
I guess if the quality is low than 3D shapes will look 2D to you.

Done arguing with you, keep coping.

Let me know when you actually try spatial photos on an AVP. But I am curious, if higher resolution images don’t convey more information why didn’t people stick with 240 P?

If the app allows sharing from all users, I wonder if Apple is going to review every piece of content before it’s published? 🤔 And would they post any acceptable content or would they only choose what they view as the very best content?

It doesn't allow sharing from all users. It's curated from Apple, there is no mechanism to submit for inclusion. I say this as someone that has used it, or I guess more appropriately have viewed it.

The examples are about what you expect, professional quality, and impressive. Through they do show the limitations of relatively small size that I have discussed previously...in that I have a huge screen before me with the AVP, but only a small fraction of directly in front is used by a spatial photograph. An "immersive view" is 70% greyed out borders. To me, what it's more of a sign of what is coming. Now what works for me is panoramas, those are absolutely stunning today.

Have you never used AVP or why do you sound ignorant?
I use it every night when I sit alone in the corner of my dark room looking at pictures.
It is your free choice to do it or not to do it. You also are free "Mocking the morons" (citation from your signature), if you like to waste your precious time with it. It is all up to you. Just remember: Do not waste your life with things, you do not want to do. Just do the things, you really like.
Exactly why I sit alone every night in the corner of my dark room looking at pictures.

When did I say they don't convey more information? I was talking about feeling of DEPTH.
I can draw it for you because I don't know how else to explain it to you.

Depth IS information… to point out the obvious. You keep insisting resolution plays no role in this, I think because you have no other comment to the fact you have zero experience with spatial photography on a high resolution device like the AVP. Shrugs. There’s a penny in the corner of a round room.

You make zero sense, explain to me, how is resolution increasing feeling of depth exactly?

And btw. Quest 3 has better FOV than your 3-4k Vision PRO that can't do anything else other than reading emails, lol.
