Normally, when showing a PC, Apple use Xp with the default Background, but on the Mobile Me page, they use Vista.

So, has Vista gained the (sort of) respect of Apple.

I doubt that it's that they have earned respect from Apple. I doubt that apple cares that much for that matter as too wether or not they would use XP or Vista for the picture. Vistas what's current, so that's what the designer used.

There is a bigger market in Pc's then Macs, that's a well known fact. They are simply illustrating that they want to be compatible with PC's and those that have iPhones but do not opt for a Mac.

And as such would risk portraying that their product is not compatible with Vista.

Not only do they have to portray it as compatible, but they have to portray it as competitive. If Apple is only comfortable displaying it next to their competitors 7 year old, last generation operating system, that wouldn't be saying a whole lot about their own operating system.

I don't think its a respect thing, it's just that Vista is the most current form of the Windows OS. I would expect for windows to show they're Mac compatible products on OS X 10.5 and not 10.0:cool:

I don't know...but didn't it seem in WWDC that Apple was careful NOT to make fun of microsoft? Especially Schiller, who kinda pleaded the audience to disregard his mistake.

Actually, for almost all the MobileMe video's they use Vista to show off the online stuff...
With Firefox and not Safari...

Why would Apple NOT respect Windows Vista? A huge chunk of the people who buy music on iTunes use it, they produce this and two other major software products for it and it's a brilliant operating system.

You'd have to be stupid not to respect what Microsoft has achieved with Windows Vista and Windows in general. Are you people really this narrow minded all the time?

I have been thinking... the "Mobile Me" logo looks very Intelish or Microsoftish.

Lots of people use windows. That is the only reason they show it; to show that it works.

It seems like they should show some respect considering the install base it has.

Actually, Apple secretly wished the laptop had BSOD screen on it. :p:rolleyes:

Anyway, I do think this is a sign of respect.

I don't think it's anything to do with respect - as someone already said, Vista is the current iteration of Windows. M$ will be phasing out support for XP because it's being deprecated. Using the current OS version is simply a matter of common sense.

You don't see the car magazines comparing the latest BMW 5-series to a second-generation Mercedes C-class... you know?
