Visual VM isn't working

Someone today finally told me my mailbox was full and I went on and deleted 40 voicemails. Not sure why it's not showing up on here.

What are the usual causes?

I am jailbroken, but judging by some of the VM's, this happened before I jailbroke.

Are you on an official carrier? If not then you probably won't get VVM. Do you have a data connection? If not VVM probably won't work either.

I'm on AT&T and do have a data plan.
