VLC and 1080P problem

Hey Guys,
whenever I play vid in 1080p the frame drop and comments "computer too slow?"

How do I tweak the VLC preferences to stop this from happening. I believe there are ways to skip x amount of frames to allow for fluid viewing.

What computer do you have? It may not be powerful enough to run 1080p.

Try Quicktime with Perian if it's h.264 in MKV encapsulation.

i have the macbook pro with a 2.33 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo. Does this not support 1080P?

If VLC is popping this up, your computer is running to slow. period. It only pops up this message after the CPU is pegged and you start dropping off video frames.

2.33 should be fast enough, provided you have 4gb of ram. You might also need to quit all other open programs, especially background apps like adium, or utilities that run up in the menubar, or dock widgets.

In general 2.33 should be fast enough...

1080p is very demanding.
